We'll book your install

If your home doesn't have a Chorus ONT yet, don't worry! Within 200 meters of the nearest fibre point, it can be installed for free. A Chorus technician will need to visit for install. Since this involves scheduling, there will be a lead time depending on technician availability and your location. Signup online and we'll get the ball rolling.

Want to use your own router? No problem, just make sure you’re comfortable being the tech wizard behind it. We do not support or troubleshoot customer-supplied equipment. If you are opting to use your own router, please read our BYO Router section for more information.

Speed expectations¹

Advertised figures represent potential maximum speeds achievable under ideal conditions outside peak usage times. Actual speeds may vary due to factors such as network congestion, the performance of your router, the capability of connected devices, and the configuration of your home setup.

From June 2025 onwards Chorus is 'rolling' out boosted speeds in batches to ensure a smooth transition for everyone. Fibre Lite upgraded from 50/10mbps to 100/20 Mbps. Fibre Standard upgraded from 300/100mbps to 500/100mbps.

Prepay to get started²

A prepayment is required to cover costs and secure commitment. This includes the first month of service and any router delivery (if chosen), and protects us if an application is cancelled. The amount depends on your chosen plan and will be confirmed at signup.

All prices are in New Zealand Dollars and include GST. Amounts last updated 15 October 2025 and are subject to change. We currently accept payments via bank deposit/direct credit only.

Power outages and emergency calls

If the power goes out, your broadband connection will stop working. This also affects any equipment that depends on that connection, like medical alarms or cordless phones, even if they have a backup battery. It’s important to have another way to reach 111 in an emergency, for example a charged mobile phone.
