Switch & Save   Switch & Save Terms and Conditions (T&Cs)

  • Offer is available to existing WiFiConnect customers upgrading from wireless broadband to fibre broadband only.
  • $60 account credit will be applied upon successful install and activation of your upgraded fibre service.
  • The credit applies to all fibre plans.
  • Free upgraded router only applies to Fibre Standard and Fibre Faster plans.
  • Not available everywhere. Subject to your availability on the Chorus fibre Network.
  • We reserve the right to decline or delay the connection of any customer whose account is in arrears or who has an outstanding balance with us. All accounts must be in good standing at the time of application and activation.

Switch & Save   How does the fibre upgrade process work?

  • Send us an upgrade request through the contact form specifying our Switch & Save promotion.
  • Once you request an upgrade, we will check if fibre is available at your address.
  • If you selected the Fibre Lite plan, we can set you up with your current router.
  • If you are eligible for a router upgrade, we will send you a new router. Make sure it is ready to go before the switch by following the install steps.

If a fibre ONT is not already installed:

  • Chorus will need to handle the install at a time that suits you.
  • On the agreed date, Chorus will set up your fibre service, and we will only disconnect your wireless broadband once the fibre service is successfully running.

Switch & Save   What if there is a delay with the Chorus install?

If there are any delays with Chorus, we will keep your wireless broadband active until the fibre connection is fully installed and operational.

Rest assured, we will work closely with Chorus to complete the install as soon as possible.

Switch & Save   Will I lose the internet connection during the switch?

No, we will not disconnect your wireless broadband until your new fibre service is live and running smoothly.
You will enjoy uninterrupted connectivity during the transition.

Switch & Save   What happens if fibre is not available at my address?

Fibre availability depends on Chorus infrastructure. If your location is not eligible, you will be informed during the upgrade process.
Unfortunately, we can not proceed with a fibre upgrade if Chorus does not service your area.

Switch & Save   How long does the switch take?

  • If you selected our Fibre lite plan, we should be able to connect you within a few hours using your current router.
  • If you selected our Fibre Standard or Fibre Faster plan, we will send you an upgraded router in the mail. Once you have received and plugged in your new router, the switch to your new service is typically completed within a few hours. You will receive confirmation from us once it is live.
  • If you need to have a full Chorus box installed, this could take longer depending on factors including but not limited to:
    • Chorus availability
    • Location (Rural loactions can take longer than urban locations)
    • Permission from your landlord if you do not own the property

Credit will be applied once your fibre plan is successfully activated and connected.

Free Installation   What does the free installation promotion include?

The standard rural wireless installation includes:

  • A roof-mounted wireless antenna
  • An indoor router
  • Standard cabling
  • Technician visit

The standard fibre installation includes:

  • Free Vilo router for self setup (excluding delivery fees). Plug-and-play setup once your fibre connection is active.

If you haven’t had fibre installed before or don’t yet have an ONT (Optical Network Terminal) at your property, the installation process is slightly different. This installation is still free of charge, but it is completed by Chorus.

Free Installation   Who is eligible for the free installation offer?

The promotion is available to customers connecting to WiFiConnect services, including Rural Wireless Broadband and Fibre, where available.

Eligibility depends on:

  • Your property being within our wireless coverage area for Rural Wireless, with a clear line of sight to one of our wireless towers, or
  • Your property being located within the Chorus fibre network coverage area for Fibre services.

All connections are subject to service availability and a successful installation or connection assessment where required.

Free Installation   Do I need to pay anything upfront?

Yes. To begin the connection process, the first month of service must be prepaid.

Once payment is received, we can proceed with scheduling your installation.

For fibre connections, router delivery fees will apply if you choose to receive a router from us.

Free Installation   Are there any situations where installation may still incur a cost?

The free installation promotion applies to standard installations only.

Additional charges may apply if the installation requires extra work beyond the standard setup, such as:

  • Extended cabling runs
  • Additional mounting equipment
  • Complex installation locations
  • Additional infrastructure required to obtain signal

If extra work is required, we will confirm any additional costs with you in advance before proceeding.
